A medical examiner has ruled the cause of death of the late 41-year-old pop star Darius Campbell Danesh.

He was found unconscious in his apartment on August 11, and his death was confirmed later that day.

The examiner confirmed that he died from suffocation after accidentally inhaling ethyl chloride.

Ethyl chloride, which is also known as chloroethane, is usually used recreationally.

He lived in a two-year-old apartment block in Bergman apartments, Rochester.

The police received a call from the apartment block that morning when he was found unconscious.

Danesh was some weeks away from attending a reunion event with his former co-stars from the pop idol.

Sources close to the star revealed he was excited to attend the event before he passed away.

Celebrities like Natasha Henstridge, Anne Ferguson, and Pete Waterman paid tribute to him.
