The lead vocalist of Gorillaz and the frontman of Blur, Damon Albarn had landed himself in hot water.

In an interview with LA Times, Albarn made the explosive statement that Taylor Swift does not write her songs.

This, when the industry knows Swift for being an ardent songwriter, prompting many of her collaborators to rise to her defense.

Aaron Dressner, Nathan Chapman, Simon Curtis, and many more called out Damon Albarn for his false statement.

Taylor Swift also took to Twitter in her defense, calling out Albarn and saying, “Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging.”

She also told him that while it’s okay to not like her work, discrediting her writing is “f***ed up.”

Seeing the immense industry backlash, Albarn quickly redacted his comments, “I had a conversation about songwriting and sadly it was reduced to clickbait.”

He also said that he apologized unconditionally and unreservedly, hoping she would understand.

Swift is yet to react to his apology although it seems the music industry and her fans are finding it false.
