The COVID-19 crisis has reached a new record breaking high.

On Tuesday, US recorded a new seven-day average of more than 265,000 positive COVID-19 cases per day.

The previous record was 252,000 daily cases set on January 11, 2021.

More than 75,000 Americans are hospitalized with COVID-19.

Over 1,500 deaths are being reported per day.

That means more than 10,500 Americans are dying per week if that figure holds.

The CDC reports that only 62% of Americans are fully vaccinated.

Dr. William Shaffner said the CDC is focusing on getting more people vaccinated.

He says that if you are vaccinated, it greatly lowers the chance of hospitalization.
