Cole Sprouse’s first official interview with Alex Cooper on “Call Her Daddy” is in the books!
The entire interview was a gold mine of information about Sprouse’s life as a child actor, the trials and tribulations he and his identical twin brother, Dylan Sprouse, faced and the drama that comes with fame.
The twins quickly became hot commodities and appeared in “Friends” and Adam Sandler’s “Big Daddy.”
However, things took a turn when their mother essentially imploded their childhood careers, and a judge granted their father forced custody.
“When my father was given forced custody, uh, we had pretty much lost everything from the youngest parts of our career. Um, that would be ‘Friends,’ ‘Big Daddy,’ and a lot of that,” he said.
“My mother was an incredibly wonderful and artistic woman, but she was financially the most irresponsible person ever. So, we really didn’t have much.”
Sprouse explained that his father’s blue-collar lifestyle was a life and career saver.
The “Riverdale” actor doted on his father saying he was their biggest supporter, and guided them with a “gentle yet firm hand” towards this sort of moral compass for “who I am today.”
“He put a lot of his life on hold to ensure that my brother and I were ok, and I owe him a lot for that,” Sprouse said.
