Chris Rock recently said that he turned down an offer to host the 2023 Oscars ceremony.

He joked that returning to the stage after his slap scandal would be like returning to a crime scene.

Rock also said that he turned down an opportunity to feature in a Super Bowl commercial.

ABC executive Craig Erwich recently revealed that the network wants Rock to host the Oscars again.

The comedian has hosted the ceremony two times now, in 2005 and 2016.

Since the infamous slap, Rock has avoided discussing the incident but has now broken his silence.

Rock said that Smith’s slap hurt and joked that it wasn’t lost on him that Smith played Muhammad Ali in a biopic.

Smith apologized last month for the slap in an emotional video he posted on his YouTube.

Smith received intense criticism on social media and a ten-year ban from the Academy.
