A new book titled "Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of 'Mad Max: Fury Road'" detailed the on-set feud between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.

In an excerpt from the book, Hardy, Theron, and some crew members spoke about the altercation.

Mark Goellnicht was a camera operator that witnessed the feud, and he recounted his memory of the day.

He said it started because Hardy was late to the set, and it was a habit he was notorious for.

Hardy's lateness was so bad that many crew members thought he was doing it on purpose to piss off Theron.

When Hardy finally showed up, Theron was so pissed that she cursed him out and demanded he be fined.

When Hardy heard what Theron said, he charged up to her, and Goellnicht said he was quite aggressive with his words.

Theron felt so threatened that she asked for protection, and producer Denise Di Novi was assigned to her until filming ended.

Goellnicht said that Hardy eventually softened to Theron, which surprised everyone on the set.
