Some things in life can shake a person's conviction and make them reconsider their achievements and where they are in life.

For Channing Tatum, it was his divorce from Jenna Dewan, his wife of nearly nine years and mother of his daughter Everly.

In an interview with Variety, Tatum revealed that he thought about retiring from the movie business when they announced their divorce.

He said he thought about whether he still wanted to act, direct, or be in the movie industry at all and then decided to take time off.

During the interview, Tatum also mentioned that he suffered from burnout from taking on too many projects without enough rest.

Tatum said that he wasn't as good when he worked on 22 Jump Street and Jupiter Ascending because he didn't have enough energy.

When Tatum and Dewan announced their split in April 2018, they released a statement that they had lovingly chosen to separate as a couple.

Their divorce was finalized in November 2019, and Dewan is now engaged to Steve Kazee while Tatum is dating actress Zoe Kravitz.

Kravitz and Tatum were seen leaving the 2021 Met Gala together for an afterparty where they couldn't take their hands off each other.
