On Tuesday, October 4, Loretta Lynn passed away.

The country music superstar was 90 years old.

She spent six decades performing in the music industry.

She passed peacefully in her sleep at her ranch in Tennessee.

Many country music singers took to social media to pay their respects.

One of those was “American Idol” alum Carrie Underwood.

She recalled the first time she met Loretta at the Grand Ole Opry.

“Over the years, I have had the honor of singing for her…and also with her,” she wrote.

She called those times “some of the most special moments of my career.”
