Elon Musk is “excited” about the future of Twitter.

He said as much in a Tesla earnings call on Wednesday night.

“I am excited about the Twitter situation,” he said.

He called it an asset “that has sort of languished for a long time.”

However, he also lamented the price of the $44 billion deal.

He agreed to pay $54.20 per share for the company back in April.

Musk said, “myself and the other investors are obviously overpaying for Twitter right now.”

However, he praised the “long-term potential” that Twitter has.

Musk has until Oct. 28 to close the deal before a new court date will be set for November.
