Bryan Cranston, widely recognized for his roles in 'Breaking Bad' and 'Malcolm,' has announced his retirement from acting after a 40-year career.

In a recent interview with British GQ Magazine, Cranston revealed that he plans to retire within the next three years.

During this period, he will continue to finish any ongoing projects, so fans can expect to see him in roles he's already committed to.

Once retired, Cranston intends to spend at least six months living in a quiet village in France with his wife, Robin Dearden.

His retirement also includes plans to sell his production company, “Moonshot Entertainment.”

Cranston cites a desire to change his "universe" and give back to his wife who has accommodated his career for 24 years as reasons for his retirement.

The actor is looking forward to a quiet life of walking, drinking wine, and making new friends in France, far from the Hollywood spotlight.

He insists he will not be taking any work-related phone calls during his sabbatical, nor does he plan to read any scripts.

It is still unclear whether Cranston's departure from acting is temporary or permanent, with some speculating he may return to the industry.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing him in Wes Anderson's 'Asteroid City' and in 'Argylle' alongside Dua Lipa.
