Brian Laundrie’s remains were found in the Carlton Reserve in Florida last Wednesday.

The North Port Police Department described the remains as “skeletal.”

Several of his possessions were found nearby, including a backpack and a notebook.

However, an autopsy has now come back inconclusive.

The remains have been sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation.

The soft tissues will be used to create a toxicology report.

The toxicology report can help determine if the cause of death was natural or accidental.

The body’s underwater location helped slow the rate of decomposition.

Laundrie has been a person of interest in the disappearance of his fiancée, Gabby Petito. Her body was found in Wyoming last month.
