Beyoncé, currently on her eighth global tour, Renaissance World Tour, is paying tribute to her late idol Tina Turner.

Turner, referred to as the “queen of rock” by Beyoncé, passed away at 83 during the midst of Beyoncé's tour.

In honor of Turner, Beyoncé performed “River Deep, Mountain High” at her show in Marseille, visibly emotional throughout the performance.

Beyoncé began her tribute performances two days after Turner's death at her concert in Paris and continued it at shows in London, Barcelona, and Marseille.

She plans to continue the tribute performances throughout the rest of the tour, acknowledging Turner's significant influence on her career.

Turner passed away following a long illness in Switzerland, with Beyoncé quickly paying tribute through a heartfelt social media post.

Back in 2005, Beyoncé had performed “Proud Mary,” another of Turner's iconic songs, at an event honoring Turner's contribution to American culture.

In 2008, Beyoncé shared a memorable Grammy stage with Turner, singing "Proud Mary" alongside her, an event that's cherished in Beyoncé's memories.

Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, also expressed her admiration for Turner, acknowledging her resilience and legacy in a touching tribute.

Beyoncé, moved by the passing of Turner, plans to continue to honor her throughout the remaining stops of her tour.
