Things behind the scenes on the set of “The Golden Girls” were far from golden.

The show’s former casting director, Joel Thurm, recalls the hateful tension among the actresses.

Bea Arthur reportedly called Betty White the C-Word on several occasions.

However, Bea wasn’t the only one who used the derogatory term toward the icon.

Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche on ‘GG,’ also called Betty the C-word.

It was well known within the cast and crew that Betty’s co-stars didn’t like her.

Betty once said it was her “positive attitude” that got under Bea’s skin.

Betty recalled in 2011, “Sometimes if I was happy, she’d be furious!”

Fans believe Bea despised Betty due to her getting the Best Actress Emmy for ‘GG.’
