Anna Kendrick shared that her role in "Alice, Darling" echoed her previous relationship.

In the film, Kendrick stars as a young lady stuck in an abusive relationship.

"I was coming out of a personal experience with emotional and psychological abuse," Kendrick recalled the moment when she landed the role.

"I was in a situation where I loved and trusted this person more than I trusted myself," she added.

The "Up In The Air" star admitted that "her recovery has been so challenging" and was "the hardest task of her adult life."

She confessed that her body still thinks that the failure of the relationship was her fault.

Kendrick said she was in no danger of retraumatizing herself when she took on the role.

She enjoyed collaborating with her colleagues.

On September 11, 2022, "Alice, Darling the film will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.
