Finally Joins Instagram, Shares Letter From Afghan Girl Detailing Taliban Rule
Jolie made an Instagram account on August 20, and her page instantly racked up millions of followers. She is allegedly the fastest person to reach 2-million followers.
For her first post, the humanitarian uploaded a powerful letter she received from an Afghan girl detailing the current situation in her home country after being seized by the Taliban.
"This is a letter I was sent from a teenage girl in Afghanistan," Jolie captioned the well thought out post.
She continued, "the people of Afghanistan are losing their ability to communicate on social media and to express themselves freely. So I’ve come on Instagram to share their stories."
She also shared her experience when visiting the country back in 2011.
