Angela Bassett says she wants to star in darker roles moving forward.

She received an Oscar nod for her role as Queen Ramonda on "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

Her nomination is the first for Marvel.

Bassett won a Golden Globe award for best supporting actress in a motion picture for her effort on "Black Panther."

The actress recently shared that after her role in “Black Panther,” she’s more interested in playing “bad, bad characters.”

She recounted the impact "Black Panther" has had on audiences.

She said the movie “was the "representation I longed for when I was a young actor coming up."

She was honored with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's Montecito Award in recognition of her body of work.

Bassett didn't like the way her character on "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" ended.
