Khloe Kardashian is officially requesting a court to change her son Tatum's last name from Kardashian to Tatum Thompson.

She has filed a legal petition to drop "Kardashian" from her son’s name, aiming for him to be legally recognized as "Tatum Thompson".

She and Tristan Thompson, the child's father, hadn't chosen a name at birth but now feel that "Tatum" suits their son.

As per California law, parents can choose the father's, mother's, or a combination of both last names for their child; Khloe chose Tristan's last name.

Tatum was born in July 2022, and the couple also has a 5-year-old daughter, True Thompson.

Khloe recently shared her struggles of motherhood and adjusting to her son's needs in an episode of “The Kardashians”.

She confessed to her mother, Kris Jenner, about the challenging initial months of parenthood and her struggle with self-criticism.

Khloe and Tristan started dating in 2016, had their first child in 2018, separated in 2021, but reconciled later.

They split again in January 2022 after Khloe discovered Tristan had another son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols.

Despite not being a couple, Khloe and Tristan maintain a united front for their children, while Khloe discourages fans' speculations about their reunion.
