On December 16, officials asked for Alec Baldwin’s cell phone.

The request was made in relation to the fatal “Rust” shooting last October.

A gun that Baldwin was holding discharged and killed Halyna Hutchins.

By January, Baldwin still had not turned over his cell phone.

He explained officials were working through his home state of New York.

As of Friday, Baldwin revealed he had turned over his iPhone to authorities.

His attorney made sure to emphasize that he did so voluntarily.

Baldwin also gave officials his password to be able to unlock his phone.

Officials will examine the phone for any “relevant information.”
