Another day, another tax lien for Tyga, who now owes the IRS a ton of money for failing to pay his taxes. However, the rapper's habit of not paying his obligations can all be traced back to his time with Kylie Jenner, and the most recent one came right around the time he suffered the biggest blow.
As we've previously chronicled, the "Taste" rapper was hit a few months back with a near $1 million lien by the State of California Franchise Tax Board for failing to pay his taxes from 2011-2016. We did a deep dive and realized the dates matched up pretty perfectly to the timeline of his relationship with Kylie Jenner.
Not that it was her fault, but for whatever reason the hip-hop star stopped paying taxes when he started dating Kylie.
Most recently, a federal tax lien was filed against Tyga on August 30 for $317,481.20 based upon his income in 2016. If he had actually filed, he would have taken care of that back in April 2017, however, he was dealing with another life-changing moment -- Kylie had just dumped him.
April 2017 is when Tyga's life changed forever, it was the last time he and Kylie split after going on-again/off-again for a few months. It was also weeks later when she was seen out with future baby daddy Travis Scott.
It's possible filing taxes weren't top of mind to Tyga, who was floored at the time when it was first revealed the billionaire makeup mogul was hooking up with Scott.
Unfortunately for Tyga, the government's not the only one with their hand out, as he's also fighting a $1.4 million lawsuit over a botched concert in the Middle East.
Tyga has continued to see success in his career with recent tracks like "Taste" and "Kream" with Iggy Azalea, but he's got a long way to go before he's out of the red and back in the black.
Things aren't all bad though, he was able to score some tickets to the Jay-Z and Beyoncé concert Sunday night at the Rose Bowl. He even ran into Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner and gave them giant hugs.
Hopefully he also asked about a financial advisor.
