Dakota Weiss — who competed on season 9 of the Bravo cooking show "Top Chef" — claims her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her since they broke up, including an alleged choking incident, and now he's been ordered to stay away from her.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Weiss has been granted a temporary restraining order against Mirko Paderno. Weiss and Paderno have each worked at some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles; Weiss is the chef and part owner of Sweetfin Poke and Paderno was just announced as the chef for Spring Place restaurant, which is set to open later this year.
In her court filing, Weiss described multiple incidents with Paderno, whom she used to date. She claims during an incident in June 2018, "he choked me until I told him I would not leave him."
In July, Weiss claims he sent her several threatening texts about how he would ruin her life and "make sure 'I pay.'" She adds, He also threw me forcefully against my car when I was trying to get my house key back from him."
Then on September 9, Weiss claims Paderno showed up at her home and tried to break the door to get inside. She alleges Paderno eventually got into her garage and keyed all four doors of her car. She filed a police report with the LAPD and claims the entire incident was caught on video.
Weiss went to court on Monday and was granted a temporary restraining order against Paderno, who was ordered to stay 100 yards away from her until a court hearing next month.
The Blast attempted to reach out to Paderno through Spring Place — so far, no word back.
