Timothée Chalamet posted his first Time Magazine cover and is proving to be quite the Hollywood rockstar. The post comes after he also leaked his Willy Wonka look, the character from Roald Dahl’s famous book, “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. Social media is all agog with this 25-year-old star, who will soon be seen in “Dune” as well along with Zendaya, with who he bonded.
Chalamet is going places. And he’s getting there smoothly and quickly, enough to know how to sidestep some dodgy questions. About some dodgy co-stars as well.
The Star Of “Dune” and “Wonka”
According to the media, Chalamet was not the most comfortable with “Wonka”, the prequel musical directed by Paul King. While Even before Chalamet released his look, an avid fan spotted the filming in the seaside town of Lyme Regis, United Kingdom. And was savvy enough to post it on Twitter.

It’s a short clip in which Chalamet can be seen riding on the back of a truck, singing, “Now it’s time to show the world my recipe / I’ve got 12 silver sovereigns in my pocket / And a hat full of dreams.” It seems his worry was for nothing because his La Guardia Arts training seems to be sailing him through the singing.
In his interview with Time magazine, Chalamet said, “I felt out of my league like I was desecrating history!”
Smooth Enough To Skip An Armie Hammer Question
Chalamet is a Manhattan boy and attended the La Guardia art high school, and soon enough landed a role as Matthew McConaughey’s son in Christopher Nolan’s 2014 sci-fi drama “Interstellar”. He expected that this was the role for him, and would rocket him into Hollywood. Sadly for Chalamet, when the movie was released, his role was way shorter than expected. Despite the anxiety, he did not sign up for TV, not wanting to commit to long-term ties.
Finally, in 2017, Chalamet landed Luca Guadagnino’s gay love story, “Call Me by Your Name” alongside Armie Hammer and earned an Oscar nomination. He gets asked about Hammer in his interviews. But in his Time magazine piece, Chalamet smoothly avoided the question with “I totally get why you’re asking that but it’s a question worthy of a larger conversation, and I don’t want to give you a partial response.”
It’s simple. Chalamet knows how to coast over troubled waters and if that’s not a sign of being the next big thing in Hollywood, we don’t know what is.
Trolled Over Wonka Look
Despite reaching heights, it’s not as if everything he does goes down smoothly with his fans. Chalamet released his look as and in “Wonka” last weekend and the 25-year-old actor was compared to the character of Gonzo in “The Muppet Christmas Carol.”
Here’s a Tweet by a fan, not enamored by Chalamet’s Wonka.

Others called for a stop to the “sexification” of Wonka. But Instagram was kinder. And one of the sweet comments came from Rebel Wilson, who wrote, “All about this x”. While Chalamet’s Wonka is not as classic as Gene Wilder, and not as wacky as Johnny Depp, it’s not a bad thing at all. Right?
