Tekashi69 is in some serious hot water, and now the rapper may get locked up for years right in the middle of his career taking off.
A spokesperson for the Manhattan's D.A. Office said they are recommending 1-3 years behind bars in a state prison for Tekashi and claiming the rapper violated the terms of his plea agreement after he pled guilty to one count of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance.
The "FEFE" rapper cut the plea deal back in 2015, and a big part of his conditional release was to stay out of trouble.
Along with prison, the D.A. wants him to register as a sex offender, and even though Tekashi has claimed he was a minor when the incident occurred officials are adamant he should be "sentenced as an adult for the crime he committed against a child and accept the consequences of that conviction, including registration under the Sexual Offender Registration Act."
Being extremely clear, the letter to the judge by prosecutors says, "Defendant has had over two years to demonstrate to this Court that the role he played in the sexual exploitation of a thirteen-year-old child was an aberration in his otherwise law abiding life. He has failed to do so."
He's due back in court for sentencing on October 2.
