The fans of Tekashi69 are uniting in hopes of freeing the rainbow-haired rapper from behind bars before his criminal trial next year.
An online petition at Change.org was posted early Saturday morning in the hopes of getting the judge in Tekashi's criminal case to grant the rapper bail. He's currently being held on no bail after being deemed a flight risk and influencer of violence while outside of custody.
The petition, titled, "Judge Paul: The Bail Release of Pop Star Musician 'Daniel Hernandez' Tekashi69, interestingly refers to him as a "pop star," but has already amassed over 20,000 of the required 25,000 signatures, and continuing to climb. It is directed towards Judge Paul A. Engelmayer.
Tekashi's girlfriend, Jade, pleaded, "I KNOW YOU ALL WANT HIM HOME JUST AS MUCH AS I DO," while directing fans where to go and show support.
The petition asks those who support the hip-hop star to sign their name so that "he can get back with his family & continue to make great music for his fans while he fights this legal battle."
It adds, "Let's show that this Rainbow hair rapper is a non threat to any community but is loved for all that he has done & the positive impact he has on others."
As we reported, 6ix9ine remains in custody facing life in prison after his alleged involvement with a violent street gang. Tekashi's attorney has claimed the rapper was only using the gangster lifestyle as an image for his entertainment career, but investigators and prosecutors in the case feel they have enough evidence to prove he was an active member of the criminal enterprise.
His trial is set to begin next September.
