7/18/18 — A rep for Cowell says they've paid off the lien, telling The Blast, "This lien document was apparently filed in court in May, just 10 days after the company’s submission of their invoice and without anyone’s knowledge. This company was paid in June with a reservation of rights. We have been informed the lien was released some time ago."
Simon Cowell has referred to his Beverly Hills mansion as his "dream home" but it's been a nightmare for one pool company that claims the "America's Got Talent" star owes them nearly a hundred grand.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Tribune Pools claims they did work on the Beverly Hills home but Cowell never paid up. They filed a mechanic's lien against the B.H. property — standard operating procedure when a company does work to improve a property and claims they are owed money.
In the document, Tribune Pools specifies the work done as "Swimming Pool Demolition." They claim they are owed $93,221.77.
Cowell bought the 6-bedroom, 6-bathroom home (which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, once belonged to Jennifer Lopez) back in 2005. He reportedly tore down the existing home and built a new one over the course of five years.
According to The Pinnacle List, the home "features a high-tech media theatre, professional tanning salon, state-of-the-art gym, luxury spa complete with wet steam room and professional side-by-side massage tables, a solarium, lap pool and an exterior pool cabana with a large remotely activated retractable roof."
