The "Beverly Hills, 90210" star — who famously played Perry's love interest, Brenda Welsh, on the hit show — broke her silence about losing her Dylan McKay.
"Yesterday morning I got a phone call that devastated me," she began. "I’m struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts. But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives."
She concluded by saying, "Processing this is impossible right now."
When news hit that Perry was rushed to the hospital following a stroke last week, Shannen sent her well wishes to her former co-star. "My friend. Holding you tight and giving you my strength. You got this," she wrote during his hospitalization.
Luke Perry was surrounded by his family when he died on Monday. He was 52 years old.
