The Sesame Workshop has taken their lawsuit and tossed it in Oscar’s trash can.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the “Sesame Street” creators have voluntarily dismissed their lawsuit after they previously lost their bid to secure a TRO.
As The Blast first reported, The Sesame Workshop took issue with the film’s tagline — “NO SESAME, ALL STREET.” — and filed a lawsuit against STX Entertainment, the production company behind the film.
They had claimed the trailer “deliberately confuses consumers into mistakenly believing that Sesame is associated with, has allowed, or has even endorsed or produced the movie and tarnishes Sesame’s brand.”
Sesame also claimed the producers “diluted and defiled Sesame’s beloved Sesame Street children’s television show.”
