Selena Gomez is currently resting and receiving treatment after the star experienced a string of panic attacks related to her ongoing medical issues.
Sources directly connected to Selena tell The Blast the singer was recently hospitalized in Los Angeles with medical issues related to her kidney transplant, specifically a very low white blood cell count.
After she was discharged, she continued to feel “off” and ended up being readmitted to the hospital after her blood cell count did not improve. We’re told the constant trips to the hospital and persistent poor health deeply upset Selena and resulted in her having multiple panic attacks.
One source describes the attacks as “extreme,” and tell us the never ending cycle of hospital trips without seemingly getting better ratcheted Selena’s anxiety up higher than she could handle and everyone agreed it was time to seek out professional help.
Selena, with her family by her side, immediately flew to the East Coast and checked into the same mental health facility she was treated at earlier this year. The Blast first broke the story on the “Wolves” singer’s treatment back in February for her ongoing battle with depression and anxiety.
We’re told the luxury, celebrity-style facility Selena is currently at is providing her with proper therapy, healthy meals and lots of exercise. Everyone on her team is expecting the star to right the ship and be back in action very soon.
Selena has been very outspoken on her issues with mental health, and has served as a positive role model to her fans who may be dealing with similar issues.
We’re also told the recent episodes Selena experienced were not related to her ex-BF Justin Bieber‘s engagement to Hailey Baldwin, however back in September, the singer announced she was taking a break from social media after receiving some negative comments from trolls online.
As we first reported, Selena received a kidney transplant from her best friend, and has been dealing with major medical issues since.

As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given.
