Selena Gomez Hospitalized Twice in Months Leading Up to Kidney Transplant

Selena Gomez was hospitalized not once, but twice in recent months for kidney-related issues — the first of which began her journey towards transplant surgery.
Sources close to Gomez tell The Blast that the singer/actress was hospitalized in Los Angeles for several days in April. We're told that is when Gomez learned just how serious her kidney problems were and began the process of searching for a kidney donor.
Our sources say Gomez went straight from the hospital to a photo shoot to promote her song, "Bad Liar." We're told Gomez chose to keep on her hospital bracelet (see above and below) that read "FALL RISK." People who have lupus are prone to fainting.

Then in May, our sources say Gomez went to Chicago to see her boyfriend, The Weeknd, perform. We're told Gomez had a negative reaction to a new lupus medication and began to "feel really weird."
According to our sources, Gomez went to the emergency room, but the situation was not serious and she was in and out in just a matter of hours.
As The Blast first reported, Gomez underwent kidney transplant surgery over the summer. The donor was a close friend of Gomez, actress Francia Raisa.
