Selena Gomez Opens Up About Life Without Justin Bieber & Demi Lovato’s Overdose

Selena Gomez is getting real in her new interview with Elle —  opening up about life without Justin Bieber and breaking her silence on Demi Lovato‘s recent overdose.

The 26-year-old sounds more confident then ever. Posing on the cover and gracing the pages of the October issue, Gomez reveals the positive changes she’s made, which apparently includes cutting back on social media.

Claiming she hasn’t been on the internet “in months,” the singer says she’s living her life exactly how she wants.

“I feel very sure of where I am. I don’t feel erratic or emotionally unstable. Or like I can’t handle my emotions, like I used to,” she says. “It’s kind of understanding myself a little more. By all means I don’t have myself figured out. But it feels good.”

Gomez, who dated Bieber on and off from 2011-earlier this year, says she’s a whole different person then she was six years ago.

“I’m exactly where I am. And I’m so happy I’m in this place,” the singer tells the magazine. “It’s a lot of self-discovery. From 20 to 26? Oh my gosh. I feel like a totally different person.”

Not mentioning Bieber by name, but referring to a time earlier this year which was a “rough moment,” Gomez says she sat down with some “amazing women who were very close in my life.”

“I just had all of them there, encouraging me, and it was one of those moments that you imagine when you’re a young girl and you go talk to your aunts and your mom and you’re like, ‘This is what’s going on in my life,’” she recalls.

As far as Demi Lovato’s recent overdose, Gomez touches on the subject making it clear she supports her longtime friend.

“All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing,” Gomez reveals. “I didn’t want to. I…I love her. I’ve known her since I was seven. So…it’s…that’s what I’ll say.”

Gomez even gave Elle a look at her new music which is expected to drop in Fall.

As The Blast reported, Bieber proposed to Hailey Baldwin in July, just four months after calling it quits with Gomez.
