Robin Leach — the iconic host of TV series “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” — passed away this morning. He was 76.
Leach has been hospitalized since November 21 after he suffered a stroke in Cabo San Lucas, according to his Las Vegas Review-Journal colleague, John Katsilometes.
Leach then suffered a second stroke on Monday.
In a statement, his family said, “Despite the past 10 months, what a beautiful life he had. Our Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and friend Robin Leach passed away peacefully last night at 1:50 a.m.”
They continued, “Everyone’s support and love over the past, almost one year, has been incredible and we are so grateful. Memorial arrangements to follow. With love, Steven, Gregg and Rick Leach.”
“Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” ran from 1984 – 1995 and featured the extravagant and luxurious lives of celebrities. Basically, it was the OG “MTV Cribs.”
Later in life he moved to Las Vegas and wrote lifestyle pieces for the local outlets.
