Reese Witherspoon has no plans to try and modify her custody situation with Ryan Phillippe in the wake of allegations that he brutally beat and threw his ex-girlfriend down a staircase, and we're told she and others close to the actor have never witnessed any violent behavior.

Friends close to the two tell us no matter what, Reese knows Ryan is a great father and would never try and take his kids away from him. We're told changing any agreements that are already in place is the furthest thing from her mind.

One source says in all the years that Witherspoon has known the father of her children, he "has never shown to be violent" in front of her. We are also told that others who have been around him for years say the actor is not violent at all.

Sources close to both A-listers tell us Witherspoon is very aware Phillippe lives a party lifestyle, which includes hanging out with girls. However, we're told Phillippe has always been vigilant about not exposing any partying habits to 17-year-old Ava and 13-year-old Deacon.

We're told Phillippe's friends have warned him about putting himself in compromising positions, including who he spends his time with, especially when drugs and alcohol are involved.

The Blast broke the story, Elsie Hewitt received a protective order against Phillippe and then filed a lawsuit for assault claiming he beat her up and threw her down a staircase, twice. Hewitt has provided photos as evidence which she claims support her accusations. Phillippe is denying all the allegations.
