"Real Housewives of New York" star Bethenny Frankel's boyfriend's death will not be completely in vain, because his family plans on working to make sure others are made aware of the opioid epidemic.
Dennis Shields' ex-wife, Jill, just announced the creation of the Dennis Shields Foundation. She explained that more information would be revealed soon, but for now, the foundation's website provides links to resources discussing the opioid crisis in America, and includes texts that reads, "More Information On Opioid Addiction."
The website also displays a line about the late 51-year-old, "In memory of our loving father, husband, and friend, Dennis Shields." It's unclear if Frankel is involved in the creation of the foundation with Shields' family.
The Blast broke the story, Shields' death has been officially ruled "undetermined" after his family refused an autopsy due to religious objection. Before he died at his high-rise apartment in Trump Tower, Shields reportedly had his housekeeper rush out for Narcan, which can be used to treat an opioid overdose.
