Queen Latifah just dropped some major news, revealing she will be releasing her first album in almost a DECADE!
Latifah was out Thursday in NYC when she was asked about about releasing another album in the future.
She didn't even miss a beat, and admitted there is new music on the way, and will drop, "hopefully this year." The news is big, considering Latifah hasn't released a studio album since 2009's, Persona.
As for what type of tunes she's working on, Latifah says she'll be coming out with some new hip-hop music ... but is really excited about getting back into jazz.
Latifah is a huge jazz fan, and her fifth studio album, The Dana Owens Album, was heavily influenced by jazz, as well as R&B. She even performed a cover of the classic jazz song, "Lush Life," for the 1998 movie, "Living Out Loud," with Danny DeVito and Holly Hunter.
The 49-year-old star not only looked amazing, but was beaming with positivity and joy over her new project. We can't wait to hear it!
