A private investigator who was allegedly tailing fitness mogul Richard Simmons has been charged with a misdemeanor surveillance crime.
Scott Brian Mathews was charged Thursday for two counts of using an electronic tracking device to determine the location and movement of a person, according to the criminal complaint obtained by The Blast.
Simmons has already filed a civil suit against the private investigator, claiming he was hired by a tabloid magazine to track his movements and appointments with possible doctors.
He claims Mathews planted a tracking device on his caretaker,Theresa Reveles,' car for over a year. Now with criminal charges being filed, Mathews is at risk of losing his P.I. license.
