Prince's sister has been ordered to pay up on $850,000 owed to lawyers who worked on her behalf on matters related to the estate for her late brother.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Minnesota judge presiding over Prince’s estate case has found Tyka Nelson does indeed owe three separate law firms money for their work.
The first firm — Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett — is owed $116,652.11 for work done in 2016.
Holland & Knight, the second firm, is owed $717,254.37 for several months of work and the third firm, Barnes & Thornburg, hasn’t been paid on the $21,816.59 they claim to be owed.
Tyka attended the recent hearing without a lawyer representing her.
The judge ordered Tyka to pay the full $855,723.07 to the firms and the money will be collected from any money paid out to her from the estate.
