Phil Spector’s Prison Showdown with Ex-Wife Over Spousal Support Checks

Phil Spector is pleading with the court to side with him against his ex-wife and not make him pay her more in spousal support … claiming she has screwed up his finances royally while he’s been behind bars.

The court originally ordered Spector to pay his ex-wife, Rachelle, $37,500 a month in temporary spousal support, $14,419 per month in martial residence expenses and a $40,000 lump sum for forensic accountant fees.

Spector’s lawyers successfully argued to have the spousal support lowered to $33,000 a month and $5,885 a month for the home expenses. Rachelle’s lawyer, Brian Kramer, filed an appeal accusing the lower court of making an error when making the decision.

Now, according to documents obtained by The Blast, Phil’s lawyers have now countered by accusing Rachelle of failing to pay a total of $705,964 in taxes for Phil while he is in prison.

Spector wants a judge to keep the support as is. There has not been a ruling so far.

Last year, Spector filed for divorce from Rachelle following 10 years of marriage. The two married while he was in jail awaiting trial on murder charges.

Spector is currently serving a 19-year prison sentence for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. He has an estimated net worth of $35 million.
