Pete Davidson Makes Brief ‘SNL’ Appearance After Suicide Scare

Pete Davidson was only on “Saturday Night Live” briefly last night, hours after his alarming Instagram post had people worried he might try and kill himself.

Davidson appeared briefly in a pre-taped guest about celebrities auditioning for the Oscars (he played Rami Malek) and then again to introduce a musical performance from Mark Ronson, Miley Cyrus, and Sean Ono Lennon.

Not long after he inserted himself into the Kanye West/Ariana Grande battle on Twitter, Davidson posted an alarming message on Instagram before deleting it.

“I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” Davidson wrote. “I’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. All i’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember i told you so.”

A welfare check was performed by the New York Police Department and Davidson was deemed “safe.”

Earlier, Davidson had sort of stood up for Kanye West speaking about mental health, writing, “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this. We need people like Kanye. No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.”

Pete Davidson spoke about his mental health earlier this month in the wake of his breakup with Grande. He talked about the online bullying he had been on the receiving end of and mentioned suicide in that post as well.

“I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t,” Davidson wrote.
