Paris Jackson was in such a dire situation over the weekend after cutting her wrists that her situation was upgraded to emergency status as responders raced to the scene.

According to the Los Angeles City Fire and EMS dispatch, responders were notified of a "psychiatric problem" while on their way to 20-year-old Jackson's location.

The situation was also quickly upgraded to "emergency" status by officials, who also noted the patient was a "possible VIP." As we reported, Jackson cut her wrists early Saturday morning and was rushed to the hospital after a significant amount of blood loss.

Sources directly connected with the family tell The Blast the family was recommending a 5150 hold, but Paris and doctors didn't see it necessary, as Michael Jackson's only daughter was released later that day.

Jackson, who was vehemently denying any emergency had happened, went out later that night with her boyfriend. She also made a public appearance on Monday night at the ArcLight theater for the premiere of the Mötley Crüe biopic, "The Dirt," and looked fantastic.

We're told the press and controversy surrounding HBO's "Leaving Neverland," has been "rough" on Michael Jackson's 3 children, but we're told there are no signs that Jackson's incident was directly related to the documentary.
