The NY Giants wide receiver has been locked in a legal battle with a photo agency, claiming the company engages in extortion by photographing celebs for entertainment publications and then going after the stars for copyright infringement when they share the pics on social media. Beckham says he was hit up for $40,000 after posting photos of himself from the agency.
On October 18, OBJ filed documents notifying the court he plans on calling on a representative for Jessica Simpson to testify in his case because of her own experience dealing with a similar situation.
In January, Simpson was sued for posting paparazzi photos of herself on Instagram, and the case was later dismissed. The fashion mogul never answered the lawsuit, and it's unclear if she worked out a private settlement to make the lawsuit go away.
Along with the celebrity backing, Beckham also plans on taking the stand and testifying on his own behalf. Specifically, he wants to argue that the photo agency violated "his rights of publicity and privacy by photographing him on his private property through a fence by using a telephoto lens."
If you've been following the news around the NFL lately, you know OBJ has no issues with speaking his mind, however, it might be a good idea to leave Lil Wayne at home, this time.
