Nicki Minaj is standing by her man as she faces intense backlash over his criminal history, and she's making it clear that everyone can save their opinion for somebody who cares.
Minaj has been under a torrent of criticism after she went public with boyfriend, Kenny Petty, and it was revealed that he's a registered sex offender. As we reported, Petty pled guilty in 1995 to the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl.
The "MotorSport" star jumped into the comments of someone who had defended the star, and backed up Petty by explaining, "he was 15, she was 16 ... in a relationship," and then advises, "But go awf, internet, y'all can't run my life. y'all can't even run y'all own life."
She ends with, "thank you boo." Minaj did not address the story The Blast broke, that Petty was also convicted of manslaughter for the 2002 shooting death of a man, and served 7 years in prison.
The star also just posted a photo of herself with Petty, and captioned the pic, "Let's give'm smthn to talk about *Shania voice*.
The move by Minaj is bold, and also in perhaps her biggest faux pas of the day: The lyric she's quoting was Bonnie Raitt, not Shania Twain.
