The woman who accused Nelly of raping her on a tour bus now wants a defamation case against her dropped , because she says there is no defamation if she told the truth.

According to documents filed by Monique Greene, and obtained by The Blast, the 25-year-old woman says she did not defame the rapper because she says any statements she made were true and also protected by freedom of speech.

Greene says Nelly and his team are the ones who have been defaming her in the press in order to salvage the reputation of “a performing artist who peaked in popularity a decade or so ago.”

The “Dilemma” singer counter-sued Greene for defamation after she sued him for sexual assault and defamation.  She wants his counter-suit dismissed, but still wants her original suit to continue.

In a separate filing, Greene also accuses Nelly’s girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, of corroborating his alibi to “further his defamation campaign” against the woman.  After the story went public, Shantel released a statement saying she was “at the venues, in the dressing rooms, and on that tour bus,” and said all the claims were “false.”

Greene accuses says Shantel is lucky her claims were not made under oath or else she would have “committed perjury.”

As we previously reported, Greene decided to stop cooperating with officials after claiming the pressure and harassment of publicly accusing Nelly of rape was too much to handle.  She refused to testify against the star, and prosecutors were eventually left with no choice but to drop the charges.

Nelly has also been accused of sexual misconduct by other women, but the rapper asserts that all the allegations are completely untrue.
