Naya Rivera Auditions for Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ Reboot Over Instagram

Naya Rivera wasn’t going to let a tricky tech snafu stop her from the role of a lifetime, so she got creative on how to get producers, including Steven Spielberg, to notice her skills.

Rivera went on Instagram Saturday night to drop her demo because she said, “the file size was too big to send for my audition.”  The post was directed at talent agency UTA, and she even started it off by announcing, “Hi my name is Naya Rivera, I’m 5’4″ and I’m singing for the role of Anita.”

The song she belts into, “America,” is from “West Side Story,” and it was just announced that Spielberg is rebooting the classic tale and looking to cast Latino and Latina performers.  According to Vanity Fair, a casting call was just recently announced, and it’s clear that Rivera is throwing her name into the mix.

The actress definitely has the pipes for the part, her audition is beautiful.  Plus, Rivera has already performed the song back in the day on “Glee,” so she obviously feels like the role is a shoe-in.

Good luck!
