Michael Avenatti Criminal Case Presented to District Attorney, Felony Off the Table

Michael Avenatti is no longer on the hook for a felony, because his case was just knocked down to misdemeanor status.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, the LAPD presented their investigation Wednesday regarding the domestic violence arrest of Avenatti from last week.

The D.A. said the case has now been referred to the L.A. City Attorney’s Office for misdemeanor filing consideration.

As we reported, actress Mareli Miniutti claimed Stormy Daniels‘ attorney dragged her across his apartment floor after an argument over money. The two had allegedly dated since last year.

Avenatti has already addressed the D.A.’s decision, saying, “I am thankful that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has rejected filing any charges against me after a fair, careful and thorough investigation.”

He adds, “I have maintained my innocence since the moment of my arrest. I wish to thank my supporters, friends, family, attorneys, and clients for the outpouring of support they provided.”

Avenatti says, “This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for justice.”

The Blast broke the story, Miniutti was granted a temporary restraining order against Avenatti, keeping the lawyer 100 yards away until a hearing next month.
