Meek Mill Gets a Prison Cell to Himself ... For Now

By TheBlast Staff

Meek Mill won't be getting a prison roommate right away, but it has nothing to do with his celebrity status.

Susan McNaughton, Communications Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, tells The Blast that Meek has been transferred to SCI Camp Hill diagnostic and classification center in Camp Hill, PA.

Meek will have his own cell while he's there, but that is standard for new inmates.

The SCI Camp Hill menu for tonight features:

  • Seasoned beef

  • Seasoned beans

  • Lettuce

  • Baked potato

  • Canned peaches

  • Milk or water

And on Thursday:

  • Poultry pasta or oriental soy pasta casserole

  • Green Peas

  • Bread

  • Margarine

  • Canned Pineapple

  • Milk or water

McNaughton says Meek will be "classified" while he is at Camp Hill, so prison officials can get "a full picture of the inmate’s medical, educational, treatment, mental health and security risk needs."

Based on the information they collect, he will then be assigned to one of the 23 facilities for men in the DOC system.

Once his "home" institution is determined, he can purchase commissary items based on his security level. Meek can order a tablet for $147 plus tax, which would allow him to purchase music for $1.80/song and send emails for $0.25 each.

As The Blast previously reported, a judge sentenced Meek to 2-4 years in prison for violating his probation with two arrests.
