Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau may be working towards a reconciliation as the famed lovers are pushing back the court trial which would make them legally separated.

Back in May 2017, Fualaau filed for legal separation from Mary Kay following 12 years of marriage. They share two daughters.

Letourneau dragged her feet and blew off the case for months and the judge was close to granting the legal separation without her responding.

Mary Kay finally filed court docs several months later. She did not agree with the decision to become separated and said she "believes in reconciliation, is reconciling and reconciliation is possible."

At the time, Vili's lawyer told The Blast, “My client is moving forward with the separation.”

According to court records, the original trial date was set for earlier this year but they both agreed to move it to September 10.

Recently, Mary Kay and Vili again agreed to push back the trial several months with the new agreed upon date of February 19, which may be enough time for them to try and reconcile.

The two sat down for a joint interview in September, where they spoke about their controversial love affair.

In his petition, Vili said they did not have a prenup and neither owned real property. He sought to have his personal property awarded to him in the separation.

He did not want to pay Mary Kay Letourneau any spousal support and wanted her to pay any debt in her name.

The two met when then 34-year-old Mary was 13-year-old Vili’s sixth-grade teacher. She served seven years in prison for having relations with him and was released in 2005.

Prior to entering prison, she gave birth to their first child. They would later get married and have one more kid.
