Mary J. Blige, Jimmy Kimmel Deliver Big at the Oscars

The 90th Annual Academy Awards didn’t pull any punches, with Jimmy Kimmel‘s opening monologue hitting everything from the Harvey Weinstein scandal, to the gender pay gap in Hollywood.

On a more serious note, Kimmel also paid tribute to the MeToo, TimesUp, and NeverAgain movements.

Mary J. Blige brought a huge round of applause for a moving performance of her performance of “Mighty River,” while being the first person in Oscar history to be nominated for both Best Supporting Actress and Best Song.

Sam Rockwell also celebrated a big win early in the show for Best Supporting Actor in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri.”  He dedicated his award to the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
