Mariah Carey filmed an extremely odd five-minute video rant about her new song, and to her close friends, it's evidence the singer's mental health may be in trouble.
Carey began the disturbing Facebook Live video Thursday night from her NYC apartment.
The singer runs from room to room in her apartment while wearing a crimson silk robe, excitedly talking about her new song, "The Star," for her animated movie with the same name.
In the video, Carey is all over the place — ranting about her song, her chaise lounge that "you may recognize from 'Cribs,'" and also her nails.
Fans watching the livestream noticed her behavior and made comments like "This is super awkward," and "omg, stop walkin round everywhere."
The video was removed from Mariah's Facebook within minutes of the livestream ending.
Sources close to Carey tell us friends and close music associates are "extremely concerned" because her recent behavior has been "manic" and similar to 2001 when she experienced an "emotional and physical breakdown."
We're told they are worried about her mental state and think she needs to seek the help of professionals.
