Lorde was thrown into a chaotic scene while touring in South America, and needed the assistance of a big security team to keep her safe.
The "Royals" singer was in Brazil as part of her Melodrama World Tour, and during a stop in Sao Paulo fans had apparently been waiting hours for her to arrive at the airport following a performance at the Latin America Memorial.
The fans seemed to be upset that Lorde's manager would not allow them to interact with the singer, and began aggressively shouting at her before she even got out of her car.
"We love you Lorde," was soon replaced by screams of "Your manager sucks" and "Where's the kindness Lorde!?" Someone even yelled, "You hate Brazil!"
Despite the accusations, our sources tell us none of the people with Lorde were her manager. Our source also said this type of scene is "common" when touring in Brazil.
The singer was not having any of the drama, and quickly darted through the airport while a security team formed a daisy-chain of protection.
She has not yet addressed the confrontation, and is scheduled to perform Saturday in Mexico City.
