Lindt Chocolates Sues The Weinstein Company Over Bitter Golden Globes Deal

The company that makes those delicious chocolate truffles says The Weinstein Company left a bad taste in their mouth after cancelling a Golden Globes event that had already been paid for.

Lindt & Sprüngli, Inc say in 2015 they entered into an agreement with TWC to pay them $400,000 in exchange for Lindt being promoted at the production company’s coveted Golden Globes after parties for the following three years.

Lindt — who is also the official chocolate confection of the awards show — says after TWC cancelled their Golden Globes party this year, following Harvey Weinstein‘s scandal, they demanded to be paid back $133,333 for the missed party and breach of contract.  Lindt says TWC admitted to the breach, but allegedly said they were hoping to pay back the six-figures “by the end of December or early January at the latest!”

The Swiss based chocolatiers say they have still not been paid for the sugary screw over, and want TWC to put their money where their mouth is, stat.
