Lil Wayne has confirmed “Tha Carter V” will finally see the light of day.
Tunechi confirmed the big news in a YouTube video Tuesday afternoon, announcing, “I will be releasing ‘Tha Carter V’ on my birthday.”
“Y’all hung in there with me and I cant do nothing but thank y’all,” Wayne said thanking his fans for their support.
The album is a long, long time coming. The Blast broke the news back in June, Lil Wayne settled his years-long legal battle with Birdman, Cash Money Records, and Universal Music Group and the rapper walked away with a settlement “well over 10 million.”
As we reported at the time, the arrangement meant Wayne was officially done with Cash Money and V will be released by Universal.
The album drops September 28.
